3GPP define the Long Term Evolution to instead of GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSxPA. LTE system compete with WiMAX. Both technology are defined in 4G system. LTE is enhanced with a new radio system access technique called Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network. Via this technology LTE is expected to improve end-user throughputs, security capacity, reduce plane latency and consequently offers superior user experience with full mobility.
Another, LTE is accommodated with a new Packet Core architecture called Enhanced Packet Core (EPC). EPC is designed to deploy TCP/IP protocol thus enabling LTE to support all IP-based service including voice, video, media and QoS. EPC technology also improve the hand-over problem. The OFDM and MIMO are used in LTE to improve data transmission. There are many new technologys to be used in 3GPP LTE, because they hope to achieve the following goals: First, Increase data rate. Second, Reduce cost per bit. Three, Increased service provisioning - that is more services with better user experience. Four, Flexibility in usage of both new and existing frequency bands. Five, High data rate. Six, Low latency. Seven, Simple archicture, open interface and packet-optimized RAN technology. So, 3GPP LTE can be used to deliever data at a very high speed(up to 300Mbps). We can use network by UE everywhere. The information can be shared more convenience.
